Who We Are
Our Mission
To promote water quality, wetland conservation, and environmental stewardship along the Rock River by engaging in hands-on restoration and community education.
Our History
Founded in 2002, Rock River Rescue Foundation has grown into a key advocate for ecological preservation in Watertown. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit powered entirely by volunteers.
What We Do
Fish Stocking
We restock the Rock River with native species such as muskies, northern pike, walleye, bass, and panfish to support ecological balance and recreational fishing.
Habitat Restoration
We improve the river’s habitat through aquatic vegetation planting and other enhancements, helping fish and wildlife thrive.
Accessibility Projects
We work to make the river accessible to everyone, including individuals with disabilities, through improved infrastructure and inclusive community planning.
Educational Outreach
We host public events and provide learning opportunities to raise awareness about conservation and responsible river stewardship.
Events
Cash for Carp
A fun, hands-on event where participants are rewarded $1 per carp caught—helping control invasive species in the Rock River.
Aquatic Planting Days
Join our volunteers in planting native aquatic vegetation to restore habitat and improve water quality.
Glenn’s Brat Haus Fundraiser
Enjoy a meal and support a cause! All proceeds help fund our conservation programs.
Annual Fish Stocking
A family-friendly event where volunteers help us release fish into the river—an exciting way to give back to the environment.
